Yahzimul ‘usra wa ya-tee, billadhee -arjoo jamee’an Yaa saree’al ghauthi ghauthan, minka yudriknaa saree’an
O Most Generous One, save me before I exhaust my patience (with myself)! So restore me with gentle grace from You, O Master of masters! Yaa kareemal wajhi ghithnee, qabla -an yafnas tibaaree Wa bimaa qad Halla qalbee, min humoomin washtighaaleeĪnd what has settled in my heart from worries and preoccupations Yaa -ilaahee wa maleekee, -anta ta’lam kayfa Haalee I am a slave who has become proud in his poverty and desperation (in Allah) Anaa ‘abdun saara fakharee, dimna faqree wad tiraareeīy this secret I supplicate, in times of ease and hardship My prayer and my supplication are a witness to my impoverishment My Lord’s knowledge has sufficed me from requesting and choosing Qad kafaanee ‘ilmu Rabbi, min su-aalee wakhtiyaareeįadu’aa-ee wabtihaalee, shaahidunlee biftiqaaree
